Online Hospital Consultations Just Got Easier

An award winning local organisation, Digital Health Devon, are hosting FREE Digital support sessions for the public in community and general hospitals and community groups across the county.

Digital Health Devon is a not-for-profit organisation who offer free guidance showing people how they can use the internet to access local health, social care and wellbeing resources such as hospital online consultation services.

The main aim of Digital Health Devon’s project – funded by NHS Charities Together – is to alleviate pressure in NHS hospitals across Devon, provide the public with an alternative way of attending their appointment (that fits in with everyday life) and try to improve people’s confidence and digital skills whilst doing so.

To achieve this, sessions are currently being run at Plymouth Derriford Hospital and Bideford Community Hospital on a monthly basis. Zoom sessions are being run every Monday between 12pm and 2pm and more sessions and venues will be available soon. Digital Health Devon have launched this initiative to address any concerns or questions about hospital video consultations, discuss the benefits and encourage take up.
