The NHS has appealed for patients to ensure they order their repeat prescription on time ahead of the Easter bank holiday.
The holiday will run from Friday, March 29 to Tuesday, April 2, during which time there will be alterations to regular opening times for some NHS services, including GP practices and pharmacies.
Healthcare bosses are urging people to arrange for repeat prescriptions ahead of time via the NHS App or their GP’s website to ensure they have the medication they need for the Easter weekend.
Additionally, for all non-critical needs, people are advised to consult NHS 111 first through visiting 111.nhs.uk or using the NHS App.
Trained advisers can provide the necessary guidance including arranging for a call from a health professional if required.
Confidential advice, along with medicines for minor ailments, can be obtained from pharmacists who have extended their services.
