Health & social care providers such as GPs, Hospitals, Dentists, pharmacies and care homes have to be influenced by their local community in order to develop and improve the services they provide.
YOU can directly influence these services in Devon by letting your independent health & social care consumer champion – Healthwatch – know how they are performing via your own experiences. There are three of us in Devon here to help you, depending on where you are; Healthwatch Torbay, Healthwatch Plymouth and Healthwatch Devon.
Whether positive or negative, let Healthwatch know and they will pass all feedback on to those in charge who actually make the decisions. By law they have to listen to Healthwatch and respond to any of their feedback or recommendations.

The following guide shows a step by step process on how you can use this to rate and review a local healthcare service, using Devon as an example. There is also a video showing you exactly how to do this above.
Open your web browser and either search ‘Healthwatch Devon’ in your search engine or type www.healthwatchdevon.co.uk in the address bar at the top and click enter. This will take you to the Healthwatch Devon homepage:
Use the search bar in the middle of the page to search for the service you want to review. A drop down box will appear showing providers. Click on the one you want to review. If the service you are searching for doesn’t appear, you can add them by clicking the ‘Add your service’ option.
Clicking on the service will take you to their unique service page.
Fill out the feedback form contained on their page by answering each question then clicking the pink ‘Submit feedback’ button at the bottom.
The questions also allow you to click on the amount of stars you would give your overall experience of the service out of five.
Additional star ratings further down the page allow you to rate the service out of five for different categories such as ‘Staff Attitude’ and ‘Waiting Times’.
These are optional and you only need to fill the ones out which are relevant to you. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone else. Once you are happy with your answers, click the pink ‘Submit feedback’ button at the bottom
