Devon’s Depression and Anxiety Service is known as TALKWORKS. It is a free, confidential, NHS talking therapy service for adults, offering effective treatments and therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
They can help you if you are feeling low in mood, stressed or depressed as well as helping you if you live with panic attacks, social anxiety/shyness, phobias, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), agoraphobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and health anxiety.

How to self-refer online
You can refer yourself to TALKWORKS for free online by visiting their section on the Devon Partnership Trust (DPT) website via https://www.dpt.nhs.uk/our-services/depression-and-anxiety-das/accessing-our-service/ self-referral
The short guide below shows this process:
1. Open your web browser and type ‘TALKWORKS’ in your search engine.
2. The TALKWORKS Depression Anxiety Service self-referral service is on the Devon Partnership Trust or DPT website. Select the search result on the list which says ‘Self Referral Form I DPT’.

3. This will take you to a secure online form where you can register for the TALKWORKS Depression and Anxiety Service by clicking in each box and typing in your answers or clicking the answer button under each question.
Your Information is sent encrypted and is not accessible to anyone outside of those services. When you have finished filling out each page, click the yellow ‘NEXT’ button in the bottom right corner.

4. When you are happy with your answers, click the yellow ‘Submit’ button at the bottom right hand side of the page.
What happens next?
The TALKWORKS Depression and Anxiety Service will then contact you by phone or by email if you have selected YES to being sent information in this way, to arrange an appointment.
If they are unable to contact you or they do not hear from you again within 14 days, they will assume, at this time, you do not want an appointment and we will make no further contact. However, they are happy to accept a referral from you again at any time in the future.
