What is Patient Access?
With Patient Access, you can order repeat medications, view, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery from home, work or on the move — wherever you can connect to the internet.
Because Patient Access is a 24 hour online service you can do this in your own time, day or night.
You may also be able to apply to see other information, including test results, in your online medical record too.
A Patient Access information leaflet, I.D checklist and registration form will be available from your GP surgery, if they use Patient Access.
PLEASE NOTE: Some GP surgeries that do use Patient Access may have not yet set up all of its features, please contact your GP surgery for more details.
You can edit Log on or register for Patient Access at: https://www.patientaccess.com

How do I register for Patient Access?
Ask your practice for a Patient Access registration letter and leaflet. When you collect the letter from your practice, you’ll need to take photographic proof of identity (e.g. your driving licence or passport) with you. If you would like more support please see the next lesson in this series, showing you exactly how to register.
Is my information secure?
All information that is sent to your surgery via Patient Access is secure. Your personal details are encrypted and protected using the highest standard internet security, so it cannot be intercepted. Only you and your GP surgery are able to see this information.
Can I use Patient Access on my tablet, android or iphone?
Yes! A Patient Access app is available via the app store for your iphone or ipad, or Google Play for your android smartphone or tablet.
