Introduction

There are a number of GP Services utilised on the internet across Devon to support patients.

This guide will help you learn the way to perform basic tasks with your GP Practice online, from logging in and booking appointments, through to ordering repeat prescriptions and viewing your medical record.

There are a few different ways you can do this in Devon, depending on how your GP Practice has decided to run their online services. The first step for you is finding out which ‘system’ they use.

To find out which online system your GP uses, please either check with your GP Practice, or to obtain the full list available please. (list may not be the most up to date)

Here you will be able to find out the right system that you will need to use when dealing with your GP online, in alphabetical order (by name of GP Practice).

The two systems that this guide focuses on are Patient Access and SystmOnline.

These are the two most-widely used systems used in Devon and you should only need to learn one of the systems, Patient Access or Systmonline.

It would be very helpful for you to visit your GP Practice before beginning this training to obtain your ‘registration’ details that allow you to use these systems. (you’ll need to take proof of identity)

In addition to the above, we will also be sharing information on another online GP Service tool called ‘eConsult’.

Using eConsult, the majority of GP Practices across Devon enable you to request advice and treatment from the practice online and also receive self-help advice, available directly on your GP Practice’s website.
